Rocket attack targets Khor Mor gas field

The latest strike on the KRG's energy sector narrowly missed gas facilities that provide most of Kurdistan's electricity feedstock.

SULAIMANIYA - A projectile fired in the direction of the Khor Mor gas field in Iraqi Kurdistan on 22 June landed just outside the perimeter of the facility but caused no damage or casualties, according to several industry and security officials.

The attack did not affect operations at the field, the officials said, which lies in the eastern half of the Kurdistan region that is under the control of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) party.
