At least four major oil companies are pitching development projects for oil fields that went unsigned in the June auction.

BAGHDAD - Exxon Mobil and at least three other oil companies have held meetings in Baghdad in recent days to discuss their modified bids for two of Iraq's major oil fields.

The American oil giant is joined by Russia's Lukoil in resubmitting a bid for the 8.7 billion barrel West Qurna Phase 1 project, Oil Ministry spokesperson Assem Jihad said. Exxon, Italy's Eni and the Chinese National Petroleum Corp. have all resubmitted for the 4 billion barrel Zubair field.
