South oil exports return from weather delay
Winds complicate oil exports from south, where basic speedbumps can quickly turn into roadblocks for the fragile but crucial infrastructure.BASRA - Iraq’s oil exports from the south of Iraq, which counts for 80 percent of the country’s oil sales, are back to full strength after weather cut more than half of its functional capacity over the weekend.
Iraq is in the process of upgrading its southern capacity by clearing the seafloor of debris and building a new single-point moorings system, similar to buoys that oil tankers can pull up to.
