Iraq's Oil Ministry eyes ending fuel imports but producing enough gasoline to meet Iraqi demand may take the type of investment that's yet to come.

The roads under Col. Hamid Ayadah’s control are some of the most dangerous in Iraq. The Anbar Province commander of highway police ensures the safe passage of people and goods in a jurisdiction nearly a third of the entire country and once home to a lively insurgency.

"All what is happing within the roads such as accidents and terrorist operations or theft, our patrols are located in that region to provide protection and to prevent such incidents," Ayadah said. "We are in the deployment of patrols day and night."
