Cabinet orders election review amidst fraud charges

SULAIMANIYA - The Iraqi government has ordered an investigation of the country's May 12 national election, following widespread allegations of serious irregularities and fraud.

In a Cabinet meeting Thursday, several senior officials from Iraqi judicial and intelligence authorities - along with a team of advisors with programming expertise - presented a report assessing the extent to which the electoral system was protected against manipulation, according to a Cabinet statement.
