KAR Group wins Ninewa gas block

Iraq's Oil Ministry has now awarded 13 new projects across three days of bidding in the five-plus and sixth licensing rounds.

The Oil Ministry awarded one more project on the third and final day of the five-plus and sixth licensing rounds, as the Iraqi Kurdish company KAR Group won the Al-Khlisiya gas exploration block in Ninewa province, near the Iraq-Syria border.

Out of the 29 projects offered in the two concurrent licensing rounds, 13 contracts were awarded: 10 to Chinese firms and three to KAR Group.
