Supreme Court delays crucial oil rights ruling

Kurdistan scolded for late response to court, as both it and federal government instructed to present additional legal arguments.

BAGHDAD - Iraq’s Federal Supreme Court has given lawyers until Aug. 4 to present additional documents in the federal government's case against the Kurdistan region's independent oil policy, and set the next hearing for Aug. 14.

"This will be the last postponement," said Chief Justice Medhat Mahmoud, who had previously set June 27 as the final deadline for a hearing.
