Siba preparing year-end commercial gas production

The first successful project from Iraq's third bidding round, in 2010, is on track to reach plateau production within five years.

SIBA - The Siba gas field, operated by Kuwait Energy, is slated to reach commercial production of 25 million standard cubic feet per day (scf/d) by the end of the year and hit its contracted plateau production of 100 million scf/d within five years.

At a visit to the field on Saturday, Iraq Oil Report was told by senior field development officials that work to reach first commercial production is 92 percent complete.
