DNO’s Iraq operations suspended

KRG threatens to make shut-down permanent, says name is tarnished in dispute between the Norwegian oil firm and its home regulator.

BAGHDAD - Iraq’s Kurdistan Regional Government said "unjustifiable and incalculable harm" from the dispute between Norwegian firm DNO and the Norwegian stock exchange Oslo Bors has forced it to at least temporarily shutter DNO in Iraq.

DNO has been targeted by the Bors for not detailing share transactions. On Friday the Norwegian newspaper Dagens Naeringsli said the Bors’ documents name KRG Natural Resources Minister Ashti Hawrami as a middle man for a $29.7 million purchase of DNO shares by another company operating in the KRG.
