Iraqi exports rebound despite loss of northern pipeline

Iraq's southern exports are increasing on the back of infrastructure upgrades, partially compensating for ongoing security problems in the north.

Iraqi crude exports brought in $7.577 billion in April as oil sales increased to an average 2.509 million barrels per day (bpd) – a boost of 113,000 bpd over the daily average in March.

All of Iraq's crude was sent to market from terminals in the south. Iraq's northern exports have been offline since March 2 attacks that took out sections of the Iraq-Turkey Pipeline (ITP).
